Master Zhang Zuyao words


Some motto of Master Zhang Zuyao (Chang Dsu Yao) on the Taijiquan practice

1 – Important points for the practice of Taijiquan: 2 – low soft shoulder and closed elbows 3 – keep the spine not contracted and back straight 4 – hips and also relax 5 – Low Qi concentrated in the Cinnabar Field 6 – hand, eyes, body, technique, position must all come together 7 – straight, not curved body 8 – thought and qi together


The following are important rules for practicing Taijiquan:

by fixing (the techniques) in the mind one obtains a unitary and complete knowledge

practicing with the body, the reactions become natural


On the left:

If you diligently practice the fundamental exercise of Taijiquan, using thought to circulate Qi and Qi to send out force, you will achieve a healthy and vigorous body

On the right:

If you assiduously practice the Tui Shou, Chin Na and Ta Lu exercises, fixing them in your mind and training them with your body, you will be able to defend yourself
